On the afternoon of 23rd August 2024, ADR Vietnam Chambers and the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) organized the online seminar for Topic 03 in the VAS CROSSOVER 2024 event series – Elevating International Arbitration in Vietnam: From Basic Principles to Professional Skills. In this session, experts shared and discussed the topic "Professional Skills of Arbitrators In Handling an Arbitration Case."
Based on feedback from registered participants and due to time constraints, the webinar focused on essential skills, including (i) Skills in drafting arbitral awards; (ii) Case management skills and skills in coordinating and organizing Case Management Conferences (CMCs), highlighting the differences between advocacy skills of lawyers during a CMC and in a dispute resolution hearing; (iii) Skills related to accepting arbitrator appointments, and skills in selecting arbitrators for the parties.
