The ability to enforce a successful mediation settlement agreement is interested by lawyers, businesses ... when choosing mediation as a method of dispute resolution. Therefore, in addition to a voluntary mechanism, in order to ensure the implementation of the successful Mediation Settlement Agreement, Vietnamese law has a mechanism for one party or the parties to request recognition of a successful Mediation Settlement Agreement at Court according to Chapter 33 of the 2015 Civil Procedure Code; and internationally, such mechanism follows the Singapore Mediation Convention, effective from 12 September 2020.
To help the business community, lawyers and experts get more information about the stage after parties reach a successful Mediation Settlement Agreement, the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC), which operates as a division of Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) organized an online seminar with the topic "After a successful mediation: Voluntary and Coercive enforcement".
